Our pastor, Donald Grey Barnhouse Jr., has been with us since 1981. He got a good start on his training by being brought up in the home of the well known pastor, author, and radio Bible teacher of the same name. His academic degrees are an A.B. from Harvard in Math, M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary in "Divinity," and M.A. from Villanova in Political Science.

Before becoming a pastor, he served as Personal Research Consultant to Billy Graham for four years, appeared as News Analyst on WCAU-TV twice nightly for ten years, and for five years taught Political Science in two area colleges. At various times in his life he has lived and worked on a farm, worked in a gas station, operated a small business selling classical music, directed a civic group fighting political corruption in Philadelphia, and taught Math to children of all ages from four through high school.

All his sermons are Bible teaching, examining how God's truth speaks to us today. He also serves as our Minister of Music, directing our choir. His wife Lisbeth is really almost a co-pastor, serving as Church Secretary, teaching the Women’s Bible Study, and sharing a wonderfully wise and generous nature with all who need someone to talk to. They have two bright, lovely daughters, Lucy Christine and Joanna Elisabeth, both of whom are now students at Messiah college in Grantham, PA, after being home schooled all the way.  Lucy Christine, 21, will graduate in June, and has been accepted to go to graduate school at Oxford University in England.  Joanna is a freshman, with a 4.0 grade average, who has served served as our organist when necessary.  They are both experienced experienced Vacation Bible School teachers, and have helped in many other ways in the life of the church.  Can you tell their Dad and Mom are proud of them?

Our pastor's Biblical studies have given him more to say than he can fit into the Sunday morning sermons, and he is eager to share the results through various kinds of writing, including several books and a monthly newsletter.
