MEET OUR PASTOR!
Before becoming a pastor, he served as Personal Research Consultant to Billy Graham for four years, appeared as News Analyst on WCAU-TV twice nightly for ten years, and for five years taught Political Science in two area colleges. At various times in his life he has lived and worked on a farm, worked in a gas station, operated a small business selling classical music, directed a civic group fighting political corruption in Philadelphia, and taught Math to children of all ages from four through high school. All his sermons are Bible teaching, examining how God's truth speaks to us today. He also serves as our Minister of Music, directing our choir. His wife Lisbeth is really in effect a co-pastor, serving as Church Secretary, teaching an Adult Sunday School Class, and sharing a wise and generous nature with all who need someone to talk to. They have two bright, lovely daughters, Lucy Christine and Joanna Elisabeth, both of whom were home schooled from birth to college. Lucy Christine, 24, graduated "summa cum laude" from Messiah college in June 2008. She was accepted to go to graduate school at Oxford University in England, but chose to go to Fordham in New York as they offered her a full scholarship plus living expenses. She has now completed her M.A., and is working toward her doctorate. Joanna is finishing her third year at Messiah, with a 4.0 grade average. She has spent this year abroad, the first term in Athens, Greece, and the second term in Cheltenham, England. She fills in as our church organist when necessary. Both girls are experienced Vacation Bible School teachers, and have helped in many other ways in the life of the church. Can you tell their Dad and Mom feel greatly blessed through these two wonderful children? Our pastor's Biblical studies have given him more to say than he can fit into the Sunday morning sermons, and he is eager to share the results through various kinds of writing, including several books and a monthly newsletter. If you would like to see samples, you could look for his personal web page, which he is trying to build. You can also check the page "We Believe" on this website, and the page under it: "A Creed.". Do you have any questions about the Bible? Or about how to deal with problems in your Christian life? Write to him! He very much enjoys answering questions, and he will try to answer promptly. His e-mail address at the moment is donaldgbarnhouse@frontier.com
