to read about our MISSIONS OUTREACH!

It is one of the principal reasons for our existence as a church.

Regular Schedule:

Sunday morning worship is at 10:45.  Children participate in the opening of worship, and then go to their Sunday School classes for the rest of the hour.  There is also an adult class which meets before church, 9:45 to 10:30.

The morning is not complete without our Fellowship Hour, with refreshments, after the singing of the last hymn.  That is a very busy, warm, and special time - making plans and catching up - and all are welcome!

Summer Schedule:

Starting on Fathers' Day, Sunday morning worship is advanced to 10 am.  Sunday School is suspended, but there is supervision for young children who cannot stay in the service with their families.  The Fellowship Hour remains, active and friendly - the love is part of the real business of the church.  The Bible study schedules may be erratic in summer; check the Happening! page to see  are operating.  We return to Regular Schedule on the Sunday after Labor Day.

Bible Studies:

Sunday evening Bible study, at the church, 7pm to 8:30pm, followed by refreshments.  Canceled on special occasions, like Mothers' Day, Easter, Superbowl Sunday, and even Fathers' Day.  Call to make sure we're on!

Women's Bible Study: 7pm at the church every third Tuesday, September through May, followed by refreshments.

Third Tuesday Bible Club: Noon at the church every third Tuesday, September through May.  Soup and sandwich lunch provided.

Men's Bible Study: 9:30am at the church on occasional Saturdays, year round, starting with refreshments.

ALSO, ... the Pastor is more than happy to start a new one for any two or more people who would like one at another time!!!

Check the "Happening!" page for details, or call the Pastor at 717-768-0048, or at his cell phone: 484-620-4053.

Special Services

Thanksgiving Morning:
From 10 to 11am we meet to share timely thanks to God, "from whom all blessings flow."
We seriously believe, and teach, that when anything good happens, you may be sure that God had a hand in it.  The Bible says "Every good gift comes from the Father above." If anything bad happens, he is working against it, and invites us to cooperate.
We let out very promptly at 11, so that anything which might perhaps be cooking on a timer in an oven will not be endangered!

Christmas Eve:

We have a Candlelight Vespers Service, 5 to 6pm, leaving the rest of the evening for family activities.

Maundy Thursday:
We have an evening Candlelight Communion service, commemorating the Last Supper.

Annual Missions Conference:
We have "Super Suppers and Sensational Speakers" on the six Wednesdays in Lent, starting with Ash Wednesday.  Our suppers have received outstanding reviews, and our speakers are splendid.  They are generally representatives of the Extended Mission causes with which we are privileged to be in partnership.

Leaders of Our Extended Missions:

Rev. Jack Crans, who has an outstanding MINISTRY IN PRISONS, to inmates, guards, and wardens.  Jack founded County Corrections Gospel Mission in Coatesville, PA, within an hour's drive of our church.  He also has a worldwide ministry working with Christian leaders in related fields, and has spoken to gatherings of police and other law enforcement people in places as far away as the Kremlin in Moscow.

Rev. Melvin Floyd, a former Philadelphia police officer who first gained fame for his success in breaking up gangs, was as a young man named Policeman of the Year.  He left the police force to start a full time ministry of URBAN EVANGELISM.  He pastors the Agape Fellowship church, and founded a School of Evangelism which conducts frequent street meetings, and has graduated several hundred men and women with the passion and the techniques to do similar work .

Rev. Dave Bailey, who founded and directs Ranch Hope in South Jersey, with a great ministry to JUVENILE OFFENDERS who would otherwise be sent to reform schools.  At first only young boys needed the kind of rehabilitation which the Ranch offers, but not long ago they had to open up cottages for young girl offenders as well.  He has had a well known radio ministry for many years, and speaks with a combination of passion and humor which is thought provoking as well as inspiring.

Rev. Robert Emberger, directs the Whosever Gospel Mission in Philadelphia, a ministry to HOMELESS men and women.  In spite of the fact that arsonists twice burned down the building, he has rebuilt the ministry, and now serves 150 meals a day to the 50 men who fill his mission to its 50 bed capacity.  A sister facility is being built to house homeless women and their children.  The mission has had such success that it has a waiting list.  Its graduates number in the dozens, men who now have homes, jobs, and families after having their lives transformed by the Good News of God's love as shown through Jesus, the Deliverer.

Rev. Bill Teate, of Glad Tidings India, representing Rev. Bill Scott who is still very active after working for 55 years in India.  He still is on the leadership team of INDIA BIBLE LITERATURE, an organization which he and his wife Joyce founded and developed, centered around the core goal of getting A BIBLE INTO EVERY HOME IN INDIA.  They do it, on a vast scale, through DISTRIBUTING CHRISTIAN LITERATURE, through JESUS BASED LITERACY PROGRAMS, through TRAINING SELF-SUFFICIENT VILLAGE EVANGELISTS, through VBS PROGRAMS FOR  CHILDREN, through PARTNERING WITH CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS, and more.  Please check their websites: www.gladtidingsindia.com and www.booksforindia.com

We also try to have a representative of the CUMBERLAND PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, the denomination of which we are now a part, to report on the mission work they have in Colombia and Liberia, together with the work of their Presbyteries in Hong Kong and Japan.
